## Report

Hamilton Police say a 54-year-old male with no fixed address was arrested after a stolen U-Haul truck crashed into a residence on Main Street East during the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Police say an officer first saw the truck near Main Street East and Glendale Avenue at about 1:40 a.m., and a licence plate query showed it had been reported stolen from the Halton Region. Hamilton Police say the U-Haul then nearly struck an officer, collided with three marked police cruisers, and crashed into a nearby residence before coming to rest against the building’s exterior fire escape staircase. The 54-year-old male was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, and operation while prohibited.
