Hamilton Police investigate double homicide on Candlewood Drive

Hamilton Police are investigating an early morning shooting on Candlewood Drive that killed two young males. Police say they responded to a residence on July 29, 2026, at about 2:25 a.m. after reports of shots fired and found two males with gunshot wounds who later died in hospital.

Investigators say the shooting may have been retaliation for an earlier disturbance involving bear spray at a residence in Hamilton’s east end. Police believe at least six individuals attended the area of 191 Candlewood Drive, where an exchange of gunfire occurred.
