Opioid-related paramedic responses rose 49% in July from a year earlier

Hamilton recorded 199 opioid-related paramedic responses in July 2026, according to Hamilton Opioid Information System, City of Hamilton Public Health. In July 2025 the same series recorded 134, a rise of 49% year over year.

The 2026 total stands at 1,155 through July.
