Hamilton Police Charge Suspect in Homicide

Hamilton Police have charged a 26-year-old Hamilton resident with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a 21-year-old man. Police say officers responded on August 9, 2026, to a 911 call about a stabbing in the area of Main St. W. and Frid Street, where they found a man with stab wounds who later died in hospital.

Hamilton Police say the 26-year-old was arrested without incident on August 11, 2026 and made a first court appearance this morning. Investigators say the victim and the suspect were at King Street Billiards before a verbal altercation outside on King Street West, and the two later encountered each other near Main Street West and Frid Street, where the stabbing happened.
