Opioid-related emergency department visits fell 74% in August from a year earlier

Hamilton recorded 27 opioid-related emergency department visits in August 2026, according to Hamilton Opioid Information System, City of Hamilton Public Health. In August 2025 the same series recorded 104, a fall of 74% year over year.

The 2026 total stands at 955 through August.
