Opioid-related emergency department visits fell 81% in September from a year earlier

Hamilton recorded 21 opioid-related emergency department visits in September 2026, according to Hamilton Opioid Information System, City of Hamilton Public Health. In September 2025 the same series recorded 113, a fall of 81% year over year.

The 2026 total stands at 1,074 through September.
